Digging Deeper - Session Four

Day Twenty-Two

03-15-26

Acts 14:1-28

Ice Breaker Activity: First Things First - Open With Prayer

I have a friend that says “It’s never too far to drive for good BBQ!” Share with the group a kind of food or a particular restaurant that you don’t mind driving some distance to enjoy.

Read aloud the account recorded in Acts 11:19-26 to see how Barnabas and then Paul wound up in Antioch. Discuss the difference between being sent and being found. Might we need to work on being more open to both? Also please notice and discuss what they did while there.

Read aloud Acts 13:1-3. Share what spiritual dynamics can be learned from this passage. As an example these could be things such as spiritual leadership, worship, fasting, prayer, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, etc.

Divide into two groups. One group take Acts 14:1-7 and the other Acts 14:8-20. Have each group explain what can be learned about facing adversity and continuing the work of the Kingdom. Persistence and perseverance are marvelous Christian virtues.

Read aloud Acts 14:21-28. Discover and discuss some of the dynamics of Christian service that can be learned. Also, note how they returned and reported all that God had done to their sending church in Antioch.

Key Thought-Spiritual Insight – Share with the group your main takeaway from this passage and close your time in prayer.
