Mission Cedar Hill

Mission Cedar Hill

For more than fifteen years now MCH has been living up to its slogan of Taking Care to the Community. MCH is an arm of outreach of HPBC and Transformation Vision Cedar Hill. Our particular focus is to care for children and the elderly. We care for children primarily through our “adopt – a – school” program. The outreach to the elderly is primarily through assisting Cedar Hill seniors with code enforcement violations. While working all year round the “Big Project Week” for 2017 is June 8-10.

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU. It’s hard to believe, but here we are approaching the end of 2017, and what a year it has been. In June, we held our annual “Big Week” with well over 60 youth workers and 25 adult supervisors. We completed more than 40 projects which included yard work, home restoration and painting, as well as helping a number of nonprofit ministries here in Cedar Hill do what they do. In a record setting year, we have been blessed beyond measure.

Then in August we stepped it up a notch and held a second work day. With over 20 youth and leaders we stepped out and took on another 12 projects fixing rotted wood, painting garage doors, cleaning up yards and empowering our ministry partners in our communities. We learned that while the need for help never stops, nor does the love of those who live and serve in Cedar Hill.

Then again, in October, we stepped up to the plate one more time. With nearly 30 workers and leaders we served at 8 new sites rebuilding fences, repairing homes, repainting nonprofit thrift stores and sorting products at others. And while Mission Cedar Hill has always welcomed and utilized the help of numerous Churches in our area, this was our first asserted effort to enlist and promote this partnership.

So as we look forward to our next work day scheduled for January 27, 2018, we look back to the huge success and ministry that happened in 2017. With over 135 Mission Cedar Hill gave back well over 1200 volunteer hours and thousands of dollars to improve the quality of life for our residents, empower our nonprofit ministries, and beautify our communities. And for that, we say thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!

Thank you for partnering with us. Thank you for trusting us with your homes, clients, and property. Thank you for picking up a paint brush, pushing a lawn mower, digging a fence post, and most of all, Loving Our Neighbors. After all, Jesus told us in Matthew 22:39-40, “Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.” Thank you for helping us do this in a real and meaningful way.
